Camp Imagination

At that place is no place like Camp!

Camp Imagination is an annual two-week summer arts military camp designed to stretch the imagination of children past introducing them to a variety of arts genres through an intensive hands-on plan of activities that integrates technical, visual and performing arts mediums. Campsite Imagination will produce 2 sessions, both ii-weeks long, during the month of June 2021. A maximum of 230 campers, inbound first — twelfth grade in the Fall of 2021, volition be able to participate; 115 campers per two-week session.

Students choose from a diversity of classes in music, trip the light fantastic toe, drama and visual fine art designed to enliven their artistic spirit. Camp Imagination culminates in a live, public functioning of a musical product, starring all of the campers; either on phase as actors, singers and dancers or behind the scenes as the technical crew. Collaborative Endeavour

The Webb Center offers this program each summer with assistance from the Wickenburg Unified Schoolhouse Commune (provides classroom facilities and free student lunches), the Desert Caballeros Western Museum (coordinates the visual arts classes for campsite), and Wickenburg Police force Department'southward Cops Who Care (teaches a crime scene investigation grade).  Community partners help ensure Campsite's continued success and sustainability.

Easily-on Instruction
Targeted to Skill Level

Camp Imagination participants are grouped co-ordinate to their course and cull from a variety of art classes targeted to their skill levels. Each camper volition participate in four classes, 1 Offset form where they learn their role for the final musical production, and iii elective classes.

Form offerings for kickoff through third graders may include: "American Ninja Warrior," drawing, acting, drumming, arts and crafts, and tumbling.  Fourth through 6th graders take been offered: aerial circus, acting, puppetry, drumming, jewelry making, sewing and drawing as their pick of classes. 7th through twelfth graders have chosen from: comedy/improvisation, aeriform circus, culinary arts, stage makeup, DIY, film production, and technical theatre classes.

Students sixth course and up are encouraged to audition for lead roles in the final production. Those rewarded with lead roles meet intensively with an acting and a singing coach to challenge them with advanced performance techniques and skills.

Twenty-7 instruction artists, recruited from local, state and nation-wide resource, teach 42 classes each mean solar day and provide quality arts opportunities for our campers.

Volunteers

Over 40 volunteers, including adult family unit members, retired teachers and those from the Wickenburg community, aid Camp run smoothly each day. Volunteers aid teaching artists in their classrooms and lead the campers to their unlike classes. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in Campsite activities alongside the campers. The Webb Center could non produce camp without the generous help of volunteers.

Goals

The goals of Camp Imagination include: helping campers develop fine motor skills, attention to item, sequencing, follow through, patience and discipline; creating a nurturing environment where campers are free to indulge in artistic cocky-expression; and improving campers' cocky-image, self-confidence, and sense of community.
